Websim - Profile Guide

Table of Contents

1. Benefits of a Websim Profile

What is a profile page useful for?

A Websim profile page can showcase your projects, contain links to your business or social media, and artistically convey your personality and interests to any visitors. Think of it like your digital business card!

Full Customization

One of the most directly editable profile pages in the digital environment right now, similar to bygone platforms like myspace, Websim allows you to use just about anything HTML to make your ultimate digital profile. add in visuals, music, and anything else you can think of to make this page share who you are with your fellow users. This is more similar to creating your own personal digital space than creating a boilerplate social media profile with just basic customization. Be creative, and try things out!

2. Creating a Profile Page

Making a profile page from scratch

Any Websim page can be a profile. Simply click the gear icon in your projects sidebar, and set the text of the link section to just "profile". Unless you already have a page set as your profile, this will send users to this page whenever they click your profile picture, or type your @ username into the prompt bar. you'll notice the link to said project change to 'Websim.ai/@username'. This means your profile page can be as unique and interactive as any other incredible Websim page!

Remixing an existing profile page (Easier!)

One easy way to create a profile is to simply remix an existing profile. Check out existing examples like my profile, CubeyCreator's profile or mh3's profile and prompt onto it with something like, "Make this a profile page for user @yourusername instead". Starting from an existing profile should give you a good starting point for the page, and in some instances, this may be all you need to do in order to get a fully functional profile page showing all of your data.

3. Displaying Projects and Likes

Websim Metadata API experimental feature

Type 'make me a profile' in your prompt bar! This will enable the 'Websim Metadata API', which can return information like your projects, followers, following, profile pictures and more.

Note: For a more in depth look, check out Websim Metadata API Documentation by user mh3. This user-made guide dives into documenting the possible uses and accessible information using the experimental Websim Metadata API feature.
